History

We started noWax on a whim back in 2003. It took off quite sharply and took us a little by surprise.

People all over the place started wanting to put on their own one, so we let them.

All the other hosts called it noWax and we put their nights on the one website and did mail-outs announcing the next parties.

We started writing about digital music in a weekly newsletter which got up to a subscription level of 2,500

Digitise everything!

iRecord

If you read the post below about the Plus Deck Converter, well this baby trumps it. Have you ever been involved in a conversation in which someone has said something like: ‘Why is it so complicated to get stuff onto your iPod. Why can’t someone invent something so I can just plug my iPod into the TV and record with it?’. At the risk of sounding like a washing powder ad. Well now you can! There’s a nifty little white box called an iRecord (no prizes for the name). With it you can record any analogue source – video or sound – directly to your iPod, PSP or even straight onto a USB stick. So essentially you can record anything on to anything. Genius. So now you can digitally convert all your old cassette tapes, videos, DVDs, vinyl, CDs, DATs, 8 Tracks, I suppose the list could go on. There’s a YouTube demo of it here.
