Gracenote Interview
By Charlie | November 20th, 2006 in News |
Gracenote is the company that supplies artwork and track information for CDs in iTunes as well as many other platforms. Some people think they are perpetuating the piracy of CDs by allowing the information to be obtained for burned CDs and self-made compilations as well as legally purchased CDs.
In this interesting interview with co-founder Steve Scherf he talks about how the CDDB and Gracenote came about and defends criticisms. Although not contained here he apparently also stated that 40% of the information they supply is for self-made burned CDs. Get your suits dry cleaned guys, whether you’re innocent or not you’re going to court soon.
