History

We started noWax on a whim back in 2003. It took off quite sharply and took us a little by surprise.

People all over the place started wanting to put on their own one, so we let them.

All the other hosts called it noWax and we put their nights on the one website and did mail-outs announcing the next parties.

We started writing about digital music in a weekly newsletter which got up to a subscription level of 2,500

Last Night A Wii-Jay Saved My Life

Holy Cow – Wiijing! I guess it was just a matter of time really before someone figured out how to DJ with a Wii remote. His first film had some people questioning how real the whole concept was. The man behind it left a comment as well. The second video (the one here) has him getting into more details about how it works, and it does look pretty impressive. It has some interesting implications for the future of haptic technology within music as well. Wii’re watching (he he).

I want a WII, ditch my vinyl for a WII and box of tricks :)

You’ll regret that ditching of the vinyl. I don’t know anyone that hasn’t

WoW, if you ditch your vinyls for some stupid fucking bluetooth capable controller that you can nigger rig or just fucking steal from target and expect it to even HALFWAY compare to multi-thousand dollar vinyl tables and a hands-on mixer, then you just flat out dont deserve to be halfway considered a DJ. You my friend, are just a fucking jukebox.

PS: This comment was for PaulC, not the creator of the video. Thanks.

Sorry left some halfway nice information out. If you truly want to make your OWN beats and your OWN music and make it sound professional and have it be close to free, get on btjunkie.com and search for Reason 3.0 — then download a shitload of refill packages.

Thats the free part. The slightly less free part would be to go to radio shack and pick up a half ass MIDI Keyboard and map that with various sounds from Reason. In no time you will be making professional sounding loops that will blow your mind.

    DJ the free way.

Interesting theme have mentioned. With pleasure I shall support.
    And in general, good blog
