We started noWax on a whim back in 2003. It took off quite sharply and took us a little by surprise.

People all over the place started wanting to put on their own one, so we let them.

All the other hosts called it noWax and we put their nights on the one website and did mail-outs announcing the next parties.

We started writing about digital music in a weekly newsletter which got up to a subscription level of 2,500

tape to mp3This is all kinds of clever. If like me you have hundreds of old tapes which you don’t want to throw away but have no real way to listen to them properly then this could save your life. Convert your tapes into MP3 files. Why hasn’t someone thought of this sooner?

The only real bummer here is that it costs £100 which seems a bit steep to me. But still it might be worth it to unearth all the those Kool Herc tapes that kept me going for so long.
