The New Model
By Charlie | December 1st, 2006 in News |We suggested recently that the music industry, struggling to find a new business model, had started simply getting money off other companies. Here’s more proof.
It’s believed that MySpace are going to settle out of court with Universal. Universal Music Group recently announced plans to sue MySpace for every unlicenced track on the social networking giant. This apparently will run into millions of dollars. So after this has gone through there will be no commercially available music on MySpace and the music industry will have again shut down a potentially massive sales portal.
Universal have also somehow managed to get $1 from every Zune sold. This is because the MP3 player market is said to have thrived from the P2P illegal market, and the music industry wants its share. Apparently they are going after Apple next. And they say Satan doesn’t exist.
